Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Freight Forwarder Agent for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will manage international and domestic shipments, liaise with carriers, prepare documentation, track consignments, and resolve issues in a hybrid work setup.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in freight forwarding or international logistics, strong knowledge of Incoterms and customs regulations, and excellent organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or international logistics.
• Solid understanding of international shipping procedures and Incoterms.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage international and domestic freight shipments via sea, air, and road.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation (bills of lading, customs declarations, invoices).
• Liaise with clients to understand shipping requirements and provide quotes.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, trucking firms and brokers for smooth transit.
• Track shipments and provide regular status updates to clients.
• Resolve issues such as delays or customs holds during transit.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce forwarding costs.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and service providers.
