Job summary

Gartner IT seeks an experienced IT Program Manager to lead a global portfolio of technology projects within the Conference Technology organization. You will drive Agile transformations, manage budgets, and collaborate with dispersed teams to deliver high-impact results in line with company strategy.

Responsibilities include overseeing project execution, improving Agile maturity, reporting to executives, and guiding Scrum Masters across multiple services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in IT program management.
• Deep expertise in Agile & Waterfall methodologies; proven track record coaching teams to Agile maturity.
• Strong leadership with matrixed teams, management and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to understand, influence and manage stakeholder expectations and to resolve delivery issues.
• Strong project leadership with backlog refinement, risk management, stakeholder management, agile team building, release management and conflict resolution.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex concepts into actionable steps.
• Experience managing project financials including budgets and spend; risk planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a global technology-based project portfolio supporting IT initiatives.
• Improve organizational Agile maturity and ensure adherence to Agile practices.
• Promote transparency, execution discipline, and risk management across technology development work.
• Analyze initiative scope and direction across levels of management and organizational boundaries.
• Direct multiple sub-team project plans and execution efforts into a cohesive whole.
• Evaluate project performance using KPIs and report progress to executives and cross-team stakeholders.
• Facilitate Agile adoption across services and guide Scrum Masters in Agile principles.
• Monitor and improve team performance using Agile metrics like lead time, cycle time, velocity, and burndown charts.
• Identify systemic issues and root causes; implement process improvements.
• Develop long-term strategies to control and manage projects for complex business needs.
• Plan technology and people resources for large-scale projects.
