Job summary

Marqeta is seeking an experienced Director of IT Operations to lead global helpdesk, endpoint engineering, and corporate IT. You will shape end-user compute strategies, drive security-aligned device management, and oversee SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Box, and Jira.

This role reports to the CSO and is a hybrid position based in Oakland, CA. The ideal candidate has 8+ years IT experience with 3+ years in management, ITIL/CompTIA certifications, and a proven ability to scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/CS or related field.
• Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or cloud/endpoint certifications are desirable.
• 8+ years IT experience with 3+ years in people leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead helpdesk operations and VIP IT support functions with SLAs.
• Own incident management and escalation processes for IT Operations platforms.
• Define end-user compute strategy: imaging, deployment, MDM, asset inventory, procurement, budgeting.
• Lead endpoint engineering: standardized device configurations, MDM for security, collaboration with security team.
• Own strategy and administration of Google Workspace, Slack, Box, Jira; ensure integrations and adoption.
