Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an AI-forward IP leader to guide global patent strategy for its cloud-native cybersecurity platform. Reporting to the VP of Legal, you will oversee a team that collaborates with Product and Engineering to protect mission-critical innovations and optimize the company's IP portfolio.

You will champion AI-enabled operations, advise on trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and manage budgets and outside counsel to drive efficient, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active USPTO admission and in-house counsel eligibility.
• 15+ years in IP with team leadership experience.
• Proven record in prosecuting software/SaaS/cloud/AI tech.
• Experience managing global patent portfolios and budgets.
• Experience in trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI in IP workflows.
• Strong collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Legal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage global patent prosecution strategy aligned with product roadmap.
• Identify mission-critical innovations with Product and Engineering.
• Make strategic filing, continuation, and abandonment decisions.
• Manage global trademark portfolio, including filings and maintenance.
• Oversee copyright ownership and policy for software and docs.
• Advise on trade secret protection and licensing activities.
• Manage outside patent counsel and budget; monitor spend.
• Drive AI-enabled operations across IP workflows and governance.
