Job summary

CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, seeks an AI-forward patent prosecution leader to guide its global IP strategy for the cloud-native platform. Reporting to the VP of Legal, you will lead a team that partners with Product and Engineering to identify innovations and strengthen CrowdStrike's patent portfolio across jurisdictions.

This is a prosecution-centered role focused on protecting software, SaaS, and AI technologies.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership with eligibility to practice in-house; admitted to USPTO.
• 15+ years of IP experience, including team management.
• Experience identifying, prosecuting, and procuring patentable technologies in software/SaaS/cloud/cybersecurity/AI.
• Expertise managing global patent portfolios; jurisdictional filing strategy.
• Experience in trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.
• Demonstrated AI fluency: implement and govern AI in IP workflows.
• Proven ability to manage significant budgets.
• Detail-oriented, team-oriented, and operationally rigorous.
• Experience using AI to enhance decision-making and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a global patent prosecution strategy aligned with product roadmap and market indicators.
• Identify mission-critical inventions across CrowdStrike's products in partnership with Product and Engineering.
• Make strategic filing, continuation, and abandonment decisions based on business value and jurisdictional priorities.
• Use analytics to identify coverage gaps and guide investment decisions; report to leadership.
• Manage global trademark portfolio, including filings and maintenance across jurisdictions.
• Oversee trademark clearances for new product names and branding; coordinate with Marketing and outside counsel.
• Advise on copyright ownership and protection for software and documentation.
• Develop copyright policies covering employee works, OSS usage, and third-party content.
• Provide strategic advice on trade secret protection.
• Support IP licensing, M&A activities, and outside counsel management.
• Drive AI-enabled operations and governance for IP workflows.
