Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing/Advertising or a related field.
• Minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in internal communications, employee communications, organizational communications or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing communications plans that support organizational strategy, functional initiatives or organizational change.
• Experience communicating with global, multicultural audiences. Experience collaborating with teams in countries where Children International operates is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to advise stakeholders, exercise sound communications judgment and independently move work forward with appropriate escalation.
• Excellent written, editing and verbal English skills, with the ability to make complex information clear, concise and relevant to different audiences.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and influence across functions, cultures, and organizational levels.
• Comfortable facilitating working sessions, stakeholder discussions and communications planning conversations.
• Ability to create effective communications materials using standard content development and collaboration tools.
• Experience using AI and digital tools responsibly to enhance communications planning, content development and team efficiency is preferred.
• Highly adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable shifting between strategic and hands-on communications responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the internal communications partner for assigned global and enterprise functions, connecting communications strategies and initiatives to Children International's organizational priorities.
• Develops, executes, and advises functional leaders on integrated communications plans for functional initiatives, strategic priorities and organizational change efforts, including objectives, audiences, messages, channels, sequencing, timelines, measures of success and potential communications risks.
• Independently manages communications projects and workstreams from planning through execution and evaluation, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, reviews and approvals.
• Translates complex, technical or sensitive information into clear, relevant and audience-appropriate communications for employees and leaders across cultures, geographies, and organizational levels.
• Plans and facilitates stakeholder discussions, communications planning sessions and workshops to build alignment, support decision-making and move initiatives forward.
• Creates and delivers communications content and assets across channels, including emails, SharePoint content, presentations, leader materials, graphics and video.
• Equips leaders and people managers with practical communications tools and guidance, including talking points, FAQs, presentations and discussion guides.
• Measures communications effectiveness and adapts approaches as priorities evolve, balancing strategic planning, consultation, content development and execution to meet organizational needs.
