Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Senior Director of Internal Communications to lead a global, multi-site program that informs and engages employees across time zones and cultures.

You will translate complex business, technical, and financial information into clear messaging, establish editorial standards, govern brand voice, and drive change communications for acquisitions, integrations, and transformations while partnering with Marketing, HR, and Legal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in internal, employee, or corporate communications.
• At least 3 years at a Director or equivalent senior level.
• Experience leading internal communications for a global, multi-site, matrixed organization.
• Ability to work effectively across time zones and cultures.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Portfolio demonstrating ability to make complex or technical subject matter clear and engaging.
• Writing samples required.

Responsibilities

• Lead global internal communications strategy aligned with business objectives and values.
• Translate complex information into clear messaging for a worldwide employee audience.
• Establish editorial standards, brand voice guidelines, and governance.
• Build and manage a global editorial calendar.
• Advise executives on messaging strategy, timing, and audience impact.
• Write and produce CEO messages, town halls, leadership scripts, Q&A, and narratives.
• Design and produce global town halls and leadership forums.
• Coach senior leaders and develop cascade toolkits.
• Coordinate messaging with corporate communications teams across regions.
• Lead communications for acquisitions, integrations, restructurings, and major programs.
• Develop change communications frameworks and stakeholder maps.
• Support brand integration across legacy and acquired entities.
• Partner with HR, Marketing, Legal, and SHEQ on crisis and issues communications.
• Design communications for a deskless workforce using mobile-first channels.
• Establish translation/localization processes.
• Amplify safety communications and culture across sites.
• Support operational excellence and continuous improvement programs.
• Build and lead a regional hub-and-spoke network of comms counterparts.
• Own internal channels (intranet, email, signage, video, collaboration, events).
• Evaluate and drive adoption of internal communications technology with IT.
• Define and report reach, engagement, sentiment, and business outcomes.
• Implement listening mechanisms (pulse surveys, focus groups, site visits).
• Lead, mentor, and develop internal communications staff.
• Manage budget, agencies, and vendors.
• Partner with HR on employee experience and employer brand.
