Job summary

Nippon Express USA seeks an Import Agent to support documentation, shipments, and coordination for customers across our freight forwarding network. You will assist in customs clearance, labeling, and distribution tasks and help generate delivery orders and shipping labels.

This role requires high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and some knowledge of international commerce. Regular Monday–Friday hours and occasional weekend coverage are required in our El Segundo, CA facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience.
• Some computer skills including data entry and maintenance and working
• Some knowledge of general Computer application technology desirable
• Industry experience Preferred
• Some knowledge of international commerce (sales and payment term, method, customs regulations etc.)
• Must be able to work regular work schedule of Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm and must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as necessary to meet business demands.

Responsibilities

• Handle job assignments as determined by Team Leader or above.
• Provide support service to other Import Agent for import documentation General business support function as assigned.
• Prepare import shipments for assigned customers. This may include customs clearance, shipping, labeling, and distribution of cargo. Generate delivery orders and shipping labels as needed.
• Prepare import documents for distribution to brokerage department and/or Customers’ Broker
• Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines, steamship line and/or bonded facilities to obtain necessary information to process shipments in the best way.
• Filing and data entry.
• Issue freight bills and invoices to brokers and responsible for collecting unpaid invoices within credit term.
