Job summary

MMR Consulting is a global firm serving the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors with Engineering, Project Management, and Validation services across North America and internationally.

We are seeking an HR Specialist to support North America (Canada, USA) with some periodic support to Asia, handling employee lifecycle management, HR administration, immigration, benefits and compensation, and other key HR initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on HR experience across core HR functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in HRM or related field, or a post-graduate HR certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law and compliance.
  • Experience with work visas/immigration is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with responsive support.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and maintain employment agreements, amendments, HR letters and policies with compliance.
  • Coordinate US/Canada immigration matters with employees, managers and counsel.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding for employees and contractors.
  • Maintain employee records in BambooHR and other HR systems.
  • Support benefits, leave and compensation processes.
  • Serve as first point of contact for day-to-day HR matters and relations.
  • Support recruitment: offers, background checks and pre-employment requirements.
  • Prepare HR reports and data for management decisions.
  • Coordinate HR communications and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide backup payroll/benefits administration and assist HR projects.
