Job summary

EIS Group is seeking an HR People Partner to deliver end-to-end employee lifecycle support for US and Canadian employees in a remote capacity. You will ensure compliance with local employment legislation, support employee relations, and run operational HR programs across the US and Canada.

The role partners with managers and cross-functional teams to manage onboarding, documentation, and HR policy updates while driving engagement and process improvements in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years as HR People Partner/HR Generalist required.
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law and compliance.
  • Experience supporting US and Canada employees in remote settings.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/ATS systems (BambooHR, Pinpoint, Checkr).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary HR contact for employees and managers in US/Canada.
  • Manage full employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, background checks, I-9/E-Verify.
  • Maintain HR records and update handbooks per local labor laws.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Legal, and Finance on compensation and compliance.

Compensation: $68,250 - $77,900 / year

Description

We're seeking for HR People Partner who will be responsible for delivering end-to-end employee lifecycle support for US and Canadian employees, ensuring compliance with local employment legislation, providing high-touch employee relations support, and owning operational HR programs. This role acts as a trusted partner to managers and employees, supporting both strategic people initiatives and highly detailed HR operations across the US and Canada. We're looking for an experienced and passionate individual who is committed to personal and professional growth, and who enjoys helping others do the same.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers on employee relations matters, providing guidance and ensuring consistent HR support.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle across the US and Canada (background check, pre-boarding, onboarding, offboarding, exit interviews, completing I-9 and E-Verify processes and so on), ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.
  • Process promotions, bonuses, employment verification letters, and contract extensions in partnership with Payroll, Finance, and Legal.
  • Maintain accurate HR administration and documentation across the entire HR cycle, including HRIS (BambooHR), personnel records, and internal Wiki content.
  • Maintain and update US and Canadian employee handbooks in line with local labor law requirements.
  • Manage US and CAD immigration cases with attorneys to support internal and international mobility in the company and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Implement global HR programs locally, develop and maintain local HR policies and processes in line with labor law requirements.
  • Partner with Accounting and Legal teams on compensation changes, invoicing, budget approvals, audits, and compliance-related activities.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and local HR projects, including office events, team building, and Local All-Hands meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with the People Partner team to drive operational efficiency, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, IT, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to deliver a seamless employee experience across the US and Canada.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Strong working knowledge of US employment law, including termination practices, compliance requirements, and employee documentation standards.
  • Hands-on experience managing the full employee lifecycle in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and ATS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Pinpoint, Checkr, JIRA or similar platforms).
  • Solid understanding of onboarding, offboarding, background check and HR compliance processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with employees at all levels.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, international, and highly operational HR environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an HR People Partner/ HR Generalist, preferably within the Tech industry.
