Job summary

Justworks is looking for a Global Director of HR Operations to lead the strategy and governance of HR operations across international markets. You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to design scalable, compliant processes that deliver exceptional employee and customer experiences.

You will manage a distributed team, own global HR compliance, and drive innovation in automation and AI for HR.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in progressive HR leadership across global operations.
• Design and lead HR operations at scale including compliance, payroll, benefits, and lifecycle management.
• Experience handling complex HR/legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with product and engineering to operationalize compliant HR products.
• Track record of developing senior managers and distributed teams.
• Experience establishing global operating models, governance, and SOPs.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance in HR globally.

Responsibilities

• Set the global vision, strategy, and operating model for HR Operations across the full lifecycle.
• Lead and develop a globally distributed team of HR Operations leaders.
• Own global HR compliance strategy in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
• Build a network of external advisors across legal, HR, payroll, and benefits.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Compliance on HR product strategy and readiness.
• Partner with Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing to enable HR content and tooling.
• Serve as escalation point for high-risk employee relations and compliance issues.
• Design global standards, policies, and SOPs balancing consistency with local flexibility.
• Drive continuous improvement using data and feedback; adopt new tech and AI where appropriate.
