Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Business Development Director to oversee and drive key BD activities across domestic and international markets. You will identify opportunities, craft strategies, and lead proposals to win contracts while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Travel up to 33% is expected as you collaborate with teams, partners, and customers, developing win strategies and market analyses for aero/defense solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of BD experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in writing proposals and winning contracts.
• Understanding of domestic and international customer requirements/needs.
• Experience using CRM tools and formal new business gate processes.
• Strong knowledge of USG acquisition and program planning processes.
• Background in remotely operated and autonomous vehicles or similar.
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 33%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee BD and proposal processes end-to-end.
• Lead identification of new opportunities inside and outside the Continental U.S.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels.
• Develop and implement capture strategies for new opportunities.
• Conduct market research to size opportunities and value.
