Job summary

Nanobiosym in Cambridge, MA seeks a General Counsel & Internal Legal VP/Director/Associate to lead our legal function during rapid scale and global commercialization. You will drive regulatory strategy, governance, and risk management while partnering with executive leadership on strategic initiatives.

The role requires a proven negotiator with extensive experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, IPO readiness, and multi-jurisdictional operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience (in-house and law firm) with healthcare, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and IPO preparation.
• Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and close complex agreements with partners, customers, vendors, and investors.
• Experience setting up global operations and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
• Experience negotiating public-private partnerships and MOUs with government bodies.
• Exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and oral).
• Proven ability to reduce costs and drive cost efficiency.
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee corporate compliance, HR policies, accounting standards, intercompany policies, and board minutes.
• Collaborate with accounting/audit teams for financial compliance and IPO preparation.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, customers, HR, partners, landlords.
• Structure and negotiate licensing deals with major partners, including pharma and CLIA labs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA, IRB and liability management.
• Lead risk management, including insurance negotiations and potential litigation resolutions.
• Manage external law firms and vendors for cost efficiency.
• Support international market expansion and manufacturing setups.
• Build a lean legal function focused on cost savings and risk minimization.
• Lead cost reduction efforts with suppliers and legal firms.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the legal team and support strategic initiatives.
