Job summary

Pattern Bio in South San Francisco seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel to build and lead the company’s legal, governance, and compliance framework. You will partner across functions on partnerships, financings, governance, employment matters, and strategic initiatives to enable rapid growth.

As the first in-house attorney, you will shape processes, templates, and risk controls, and work closely with leadership to balance business objectives with legal requirements while building scalable

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar membership in CA, NY, or MA.
• 5–7 years of legal experience in venture-backed tech or life sciences.
• Experience in-house at a high-growth startup or top law firm.
• Strong skills in negotiating commercial agreements and advising cross-functional teams.
• Experience with venture-backed governance, financing, and equity administration.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and partnerships.
• Lead corporate governance activities, including board actions and recordkeeping.
• Manage employment documentation and advise on HR compliance in partnership with People team.
• Develop legal templates, playbooks, and workflows to scale business operations while managing risk.
