Job summary

Cornerstone Search Group has been engaged to fill a newly created Chief Legal Officer role for a high-profile, well-funded biotech company. You will partner with the CEO and leadership team to shape legal, regulatory, and compliance strategy across R&D to commercialization, including global regulatory pathways.

The ideal candidate brings JD credentials, 12+ years of senior biotech legal leadership, and a track record with NDA/BLA approvals, IP, contracts, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• Must have JD and in-house leadership experience in a late-stage biotech or similar environment.
• Deep knowledge of US law and FDA regulations, NDA/BLA familiarity.
• Experience with US commercial launches; ex-US launch experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level legal leadership, strategy, and compliance oversight across R&D to Commercial.
• Foster collaboration to ensure legal alignment with business goals.
• Advise CEO, executive leadership, and Board on US and international legal matters; support R&D collaborations, regulatory pathways, and future commercialization.
• Oversee regulatory compliance including FDA BLA/NDA regulations and risk management.
