Job summary

Allies of Skin is seeking a Director of Operations in Los Angeles to lead end-to-end order fulfillment. You will oversee 3PL relationships, inventory accuracy, and urgent shipping priorities across D2C and B2B channels, driving cost efficiency and process improvements.

You will manage a small team and report to the VP of Supply Chain and Operations, shaping strategy for warehousing, ERP/WMS/EDI systems, and freight optimization in a fast-paced beauty/CPG context.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in 3PL global warehousing and logistics.
• 5+ years of managing a team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process and cost improvements at 3PLs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic, analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced startup-like environment.
• Proficiency with Excel, ERP, WMS, EDI; Power BI a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations across multiple 3PL warehouses.
• Drive cost savings initiatives with 3PLs.
• Audit monthly invoices from 3PLs and request adjustments.
• Provide forecasts to 3PLs.
• Collaborate on process improvements for receiving, packing, returns.
• Work with ERP/WMS/EDI automation upgrades.
• Manage warehouse transitions and RFQs for new 3PLs.
• Oversee Inventory Control Manager reconciliations.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and proper space utilization.
• Manage cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Manage 2 Fulfillment Coordinators.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service on orders.
• Provide updates to leadership on orders shipped and open orders.
• Partner with Finance on month-end postings.
• Oversee Logistics Manager inbound/outbound shipments.
• Know compliance and documentation for imports/exports.
• Conduct RFQs for freight forwarding partners.
• Manage and optimize shipping costs and carrier relationships.
