Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Application Support Analyst in Whippany, NJ to maintain the stability of Global Fraud platforms and support business continuity. You will coordinate across technology, operations and business stakeholders to enable timely incident resolution and continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on experience with monitoring tools, middleware, DevOps, and banking domain knowledge, with a focus on high availability and rapid recovery of production systems.

Qualifications

• Monitoring and observability skills using AppDynamics, Elasticsearch, Netcool, and Kibana.
• Experience with middleware and platforms including WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, and Tomcat.
• Knowledge of DevOps and automation tools such as Jenkins, Chef, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Considerable domain knowledge in banking or the financial sector.
• Proficiency in Unix and Linux along with shell scripting experience.
• Java/J2EE, APIs, and Oracle PL/SQL for enterprise application support.
• Cloud Technologies such as Open Shift / aPaaS.
• Knowledge of AWS will be an added advantage.
• Solid understanding of SDLC including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic IT Services direction and oversee implementation of up-to-date processes.
• Manage IT Services department, oversee personnel, goals, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain relationships with IT Services stakeholders and external vendors.
• Develop and enforce policies and controls for IT Services, ensuring SOP compliance.
• Identify and mitigate IT Services risks, align with change and compliance functions.
• Monitor financial performance of IT Services, drive value from contracts, control costs.
• Lead IT Services projects and deliver integrated client solutions.
• Maintain critical technology infrastructure and resolve complex technical issues.
