Job summary

Nikon SLM Solutions seeks a field service engineer to support installed metal 3D printing systems. You will work on electrical, mechanical, cooling and gas subsystems, ensuring optimal machine operation and productivity.

You will train customer personnel, support start-up activities, and communicate status to customers and the Service Manager, helping ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Automation Technology or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with industrial equipment.
• Read electrical schematics and set up computer hardware/software.
• Experience with 3D printing technology, especially Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion, is preferred.
• Hands-on automation systems experience in manufacturing plants; CAD software experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for installed machines across electrical, mechanical, cooling and gas systems.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure successful installation and start-up.
• Train customer personnel on Level 1 system use.
• Attend and schedule meetings to discuss installation or repair status.
• Communicate installation or repair status to customer and Service Manager.
• Work with Service Manager to ensure excellent customer service.
