Job summary

KLA in Chandler, AZ, is seeking an installation and field service engineer to deploy and qualify advanced semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites worldwide. You will diagnose issues, perform setup and calibration, and work across regions to ensure system performance and tool transfer.

Travel will be extensive, including international assignments. Candidates should have a background in electronics, optics, and mechanics, experience with high-vacuum systems, and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electro‑optical systems.
• Experience with high‑vacuum systems strongly preferred.
• Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking (Windows, Unix, or similar environments).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly self‑motivated, organized, and detail‑oriented.

Responsibilities

• Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership.
• Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process.
• Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
• Secure warranty sign‑off on newly installed tools.
