Job summary

Lumentum seeks a Senior Export Control Operations Lead to strengthen its U.S. export compliance framework within the Americas Trade Operations Team. You will serve as the SME on EAR/ITAR, manage licensing, classification, screening, and due diligence for export transactions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree requirement and extensive experience in U.S. export controls (EAR/ITAR)
12+ years of U.S. export control experience
Hands-on in complex classification, licensing, screening, and technology control
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in regulatory contexts
Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration across teams
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment
Experience with Global Trade Management or ERP-based compliance tools
Professional certifications (CES, CUSECO) are a plus

Responsibilities

Determine export jurisdiction and classification for hardware and technology under EAR/ITAR.
Identify licensing requirements, prepare and manage export licenses and endorsements.
Conduct end-use/end-user, destination, and sanctions screening and due diligence.
Manage deemed export and technology control activities and TCPs.
Support ongoing compliance program improvements, audits, and training.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, IT and other functions to integrate export-control requirements.
Lead automation and digital initiative to improve data accuracy and efficiency.
