Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a GES Senior Associate to develop, recommend, and implement efficient tax strategies that maximize client benefits and lower current and future taxes. The role handles equity and deferred compensation taxation, plus individual and corporate taxes.

Responsibilities include research, tax compliance, compensation consulting, and strategy development, with supervision of associates and interns. Strong English, analytical skills, and client interaction are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources, preferred.
• Master’s degree, preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of prior work experience required; focus in compensation and/or strategic service consulting, preferred.
• Certified Compensation Professional, CPA certification or other relevant certification, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Identifies situations requiring research and outlines issues with appropriate sources.
• Analyzes researched facts and sources used.
• Composes detailed reports of research findings.
• Assists with compensation planning and benchmarking for executive compensation models.
• Ensures client tax compliance while identifying options to minimize burdens.
• Documents and organizes work product for review by senior professionals.
• Reviews SEC filings, survey data, and best-practice guidelines to advise on compensation opportunities.
• Monitors tax and regulatory actions regarding executive compensation rules and advises on compliance strategies.
• Assists in studies of market practices to identify alternative actions for clients.
• Develops understanding of clients’ business objectives for compensation strategy development.
• Supervises day-to-day workload and reviews work of Associates and Interns.
• Trains Associates/Interns on relevant software and provides performance feedback.
