Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Product Lifecycle Electrical Engineer in Data Center Engineering to own the electrical product lifecycle within the medium voltage switchgear and transformer category. You will collaborate with product development, suppliers, and field teams to ensure reliability and compliance across AWS data centers.

You will lead design reviews, coordinate with global teams, analyze failures, and translate complex electrical systems into actionable documentation while traveling up to 30%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas.
• Experience in commissioning.
• Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical equipment or design related to data center electrical and mechanical topology.

Responsibilities

• Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
• Work with global electrical equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
• Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (reliability, operations, design, compliance).
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographic zones.
• Explain complex systems in clear language.
• Provide support to Field Engineering for root cause analysis with quality teams for investigations.
• Listen to customer feedback to improve product reliability or availability.
• Collaborate with global suppliers to design product improvements and oversee root cause analysis.
• Contribute to the global knowledge base and drive continuous improvement.
