Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in San Francisco seeks a Customs Systems & Processes Specialist to optimize logistics and ensure U.S. import compliance.

You will compile, analyze, and submit accurate Customs Reconciliation entries to CBP in line with 19 CFR Part 181, reconciling entry processes with valuation principles. You will liaise with stakeholders, manage timelines, and stay updated on regulatory changes while supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Accounting, Supply Chain or related field.
• 5+ years in customs compliance, import operations, or trade compliance; reconciliation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), HTS classification, valuation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with CBP’s ACE portal and data analysis tools (Excel, ERP, trade software).
• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file Customs Reconciliation entries per CBP regulations and company procedures.
• Perform variance analysis between declared and actual values related to assists, royalties, transfer pricing, and classifications.
• Manage reconciliation timelines and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders for timely data gathering.
• Maintain CBP ACE compliance and manage reconciliation flags in entry data.
• Support post-entry reviews, internal audits, and CBP inquiries.
• Monitor regulatory changes and best practices in reconciliation programs.
