Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Customs Specialist in the United States to optimize logistics and ensure smooth import/export operations. You will support customs entry transactions and assist in preparing documents to clear merchandise through U.S. Customs and related agencies.

The role requires at least 2 years of customs clearance experience for road and rail, plus working knowledge of CargoWise. Strong regulatory understanding and geography knowledge are important for success.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 2+ years' experience in customs clearance for road and rail transportation.
• Knowledge of CargoWise and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process shipments within NBSC guidelines and branch instructions.
• Enter data accurately to facilitate shipments through U.S. Customs and PSGs.
• Classify goods per SOPs and instructions and verify critical data for entry processing.
• Review documents and address discrepancies with supervisor.
• Request or compile import documentation from clients as needed.
• Complete PSG data interfaces (FDA, EPA, DOT, FCC, Fish & Wildlife) and communicate status to carrier.
