Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding seeks a Director, International Customs Operations in Columbia, SC to lead its customs brokerage entry processing teams and guide the operation through multiple management levels. The role carries responsibility for P&L, budget targets, and strategic planning to ensure service excellence.

Responsibilities include KPI achievement, offshore/onsite coordination, and ongoing process improvements, with a focus on CBP compliance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience are required.
• Active U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management capability.
• Solid financial acumen and budgeting experience.

Responsibilities

• Organize, delegate, and plan daily operations for the team to ensure efficient workflow.
• Monitor shipment status within Entry Processing and Records, identify issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Support Customer Service with incident and exception management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Continuously assess team performance and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Identify training needs and develop opportunities to build a highly skilled department.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for operational questions related to serviced accounts.
