Job summary

U.S. Bank in Saint Paul seeks a Global Head of Custody Operations to lead the front-to-back custody and asset servicing platform.

You will drive real-time exception management, automation, and regulatory readiness across a global team, balancing client service, risk, and resilience in a dynamic post-trade environment. You will oversee settlements, corporate actions, and returns while aligning with strategic objectives, vendor management, and market regulation.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of financial services experience in operations with leadership experience.
• Deep expertise across securities processing, settlement, corporate actions, income/tax processing and other custody functions.
• Strong knowledge of OCC, DTC/DTCC, CSDR, and global market practice.
• Proven track record transforming operating models to reduce cycle times and increase automation.
• Experience managing operational budgets, workforce plans, and productivity initiatives.
• Leadership across risk, compliance, and technology in large-scale environments.
• Experience managing sub-custodian and third-party relationships.
• Ability to thrive in compressed, deadline-driven settings with executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the operational strategy and vision for custody operations.
• Lead transition from batch processing to real-time exception management.
• Drive digital transformation using RPA, cloud, AI, and ISO 20022 messaging to raise STP rates.
• Oversee settlements, corporate actions, income collection, proxy voting, and reconciliations globally.
• Manage regulatory reporting, examinations, and contingency programs.
• Lead a global team, manage budgets, and ensure scalable capacity.
