Job summary

Cerence is seeking a Senior Compliance Leader to own and operate a centralized compliance management system across quality, HSE, security, privacy, legal/regulatory, and internal controls. You will define policies, drive governance, and coordinate audits with cross-functional teams including Legal, Security, and Engineering.

You will guide regional regulatory obligations (EU, US, APAC, China), maintain the Trust Center, and collaborate with CFO/internal audit.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in compliance, risk, quality, security, or regulatory roles.
• Experience owning multiple compliance domains simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of ISO-based management systems and audit operations.
• Experience interfacing with internal/external auditors and regulators.
• Ability to translate legal/regulatory requirements into operational controls.
• Proven stakeholder management across Legal, Engineering, Product, Security, Finance, and Operations.
• Systems thinker with pragmatic, risk-based approach.
• Comfortable with executive leadership and boards.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise compliance policies, standards, and controls.
• Establish governance including a cross-functional RACI across functions.
• Drive regional regulatory awareness (EU, US, APAC, China).
• Maintain customer facing Trust Center and compliance artifacts.
• Lead audits and corrective actions; align with certifications.
• Ensure OEM contractual and product compliance requirements.
• Partner with Security, Product, and Engineering on security frameworks.
• Operationalize privacy compliance (GDPR).
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate into actionable controls.
• Report enterprise compliance risk to executives and Audit Committee.
