Job summary

Pyka is seeking a Compensation Manager to lead and evolve its global compensation programs. You will maintain salary bands, equity bands, and benchmarking data for the US, Brazil, and beyond as the company scales into new countries.

As an individual contributor reporting to the Head of People, you will partner with Finance, Legal, and leadership to ensure market competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and clear compensation communications across regions and teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated compensation experience in fast-paced hardware/tech/aerospace startups.
• Experience running compensation across multiple countries, with US as core market.
• 3+ years of startup equity program experience with grant sizing and benchmarking.
• Knowledge of tech/hardware compensation databases (Radford, Option Impact, Mercer).
• Strong ability to build compensation models in Google Sheets or Excel.
• Understanding of US labor laws and pay transparency mandates (FLSA).
• Ability to translate complex compensation and equity concepts clearly for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve salary bands, job families, and variable pay programs for US and Brazil.
• Configure and optimize compensation platforms for merit cycles and benchmarking data.
• Run equity compensation programs including grant guidelines and cap table alignment.
• Conduct market analysis and recommend band adjustments for each market.
• Lead annual compensation reviews, merit increases, and promotions with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international regulations.
• Create transparent compensation communications for employees and candidates.
• Own or support benefits programs design and administration where applicable.
