Job summary

Unum is seeking a Director of Compensation Programs to lead the design, development, and management of our global compensation structure, including base pay, incentives, and recognition. You will transform the compensation framework to support career growth, workforce efficiency, and strategic initiatives, using advanced analytics to inform decisions and drive value for employees and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7–10 years’ experience in global compensation program development/management preferred.
• CCP designation is desirable.
• Translate global strategies into actionable compensation work.
• Assess business issues and develop effective solutions.
• Build strong partnerships at all levels and influence outcomes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to influence.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.
• Strong math and statistical ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and administer global compensation programs aligned to business objectives.
• Manage global career framework and workforce planning for leaders.
• Conduct complex analytics and predictive modeling for strategic insights.
• Collaborate with HR partners and senior leadership to drive compensation initiatives.
• Lead annual compensation review and incentive program design.
• Coach and develop a compensation team with a consultative approach.
• Automate processes and dashboards to support leadership decisions.
• Maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders and vendors to optimize programs.
• Develop dashboards with internal teams to manage workforce strategy.
• Stay updated on external compensation practices and regulations.
