Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of loadmaster experience or 5 years loading commercial aircraft.
• Clear and effective communication with company, vendors, customers and agencies, verbally and in writing.
• Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Email.

Responsibilities

• Verifies cargo eligibility for airlift.
• Determines quantity, type, and size of cargo to load per aircraft limitations.
• Cargo and baggage buildup, breakdown, and tie-down.
• Preplans and ensures cargo loaded according to load plan.
• Ensures proper cargo documentation, labeling, and marketing requirements.
• Checks cargo against manifests and annotates discrepancies.
• Implements safety precautions for aircraft.
• Calculates and secures cargo with restraints.
• Supervises aircraft loading and offloading.
• Monitors cargo restraints and environmental systems in flight.
• HazMat handling and notification procedures.
• Imports/exports and government doc compliance for flights.
• Comply with customs and other agency requirements for international flights.
• Aircraft cleaning and disinfecting when transporting live animals.
• Ground security for aircraft, passengers, baggage and cargo.
• Safety briefings for crew.
• In-flight liaison with Captain and supervisors.
• Performs other administrative and operational duties as required.
