Job summary

SOM in New York seeks a senior BIM Specialist to lead the development and firmwide implementation of BIM workflows, custom applications, and integrations across our architecture and structural engineering disciplines. You will collaborate with the Design Technology team to advance BIM standards and ensure consistency across projects.

Responsibilities include developing automated workflows, establishing guidelines, and driving data-management strategies to support project delivery and lifecycle

Responsibilities

Develop and firmwide implementation of BIM workflows, custom applications, and integrations across our architecture and structural engineering disciplines' digital ecosystem.
Explores, defines, and oversees the firmwide implementation of SOM's BIM workflows across the full project lifecycle with the Design Technology team.
Establish standards, assets, guidelines, and best practices for BIM workflows in collaboration with BIM leaders and computational design experts.
Develop, test, and deploy automation and standardized workflows to streamline documentation and reduce manual effort (e.g., automated sheet creation, model data organization, automated dimensioning and tagging, model health checking).
Implement automated QA/QC protocols and data-validation to ensure models meet Level of Development standards and contain accurate asset/material parameters for downstream coordination.
