Job summary

SOM in Los Angeles is seeking a BIM Specialist to develop and maintain BIM workflows and deliver structural models and drawings using Revit and related tools. You will be responsible for BMP creation and cross‑disciplinary coordination to ensure model quality and timely delivery.

You will lead BIM standards, mentor staff, and drive the adoption of BIM technology and data workflows across projects as part of SOM’s digital design initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college training or equivalent.
• Six (6) or more years of professional experience in Revit to document structural information for a variety of building projects.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem solving, and high attention to precision.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains the project BMP (BIM Management Plan), including goals for BIM utilization.
• Collaborates with the Project Digital Design Coordinator to develop BMPs.
• Creates, develops, and manages the BIM model and drawings for structural engineering components.
• Coordinates BIM model management with other disciplines.
• Monitors BIM models for quality and content at milestones.
• Leads the implementation of BIM technology and R&D.
• Provides CAD drawing support as required.
• Develops and implements firmwide BIM standards and data workflows.
