Job summary

Remote is seeking a Benefits Compliance Specialist to establish and scale Remote’s global benefits compliance program. You will partner with Legal, Payroll, Finance, and Product to ensure benefits programs meet country-specific requirements and align with our scalable, automated processes.

The role focuses on regulatory interpretation, audits, governance, and continuous improvement to reduce risk while delivering compliant benefits to a global workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience in benefits operations or related compliance roles.
• Strong understanding of statutory benefits across countries/regions.
• Experience designing compliance frameworks and leading audits or risk assessments.
• Analytical mindset with comfort handling data, reports, and evidence.
• Excellent written communication translating complex requirements into guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret benefits compliance requirements across countries.
• Oversee statutory filings, reporting, and regulatory obligations with stakeholders.
• Audit benefits processes, data, vendor outputs, payroll inputs, contributions, and workflows.
• Partner with Legal, Payroll, Finance, Benefits Ops, Product, and external advisors to ensure compliant processes.
• Identify non-compliance risks and drive remediation plans to resolution.
• Design and maintain compliance controls, SOPs, and audit documentation.
• Translate regulatory requirements into operational/product requirements for launches.
