Job summary

BDP International, headquartered in Philadelphia, seeks a Manager - Application Development in Global Shared Services. The role leads development for Microsoft stack apps in AWS, supporting Surface/TBL transportation, freight payment, TMS, customer portals, pricing, and EDI/API integrations with carriers and customers.

You will manage a mix of employees and contractors, drive transition to global support, and ensure incident management, security, and governance across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in application development/IT, including 3+ years in management.
• Experience delivering application portfolio consolidation, modernization or legacy retirement.
• Proficient in Agile delivery practices, backlog management and release governance.
• Knowledgeable in integration technologies, including APIs, EDI, file-based integrations (SFTP/FTP) and middleware.
• Able to communicate clearly with technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Able to produce and enforce documentation including runbooks, support matrices and knowledge articles.

Responsibilities

• Lead developers and contractors supporting the Global Shared Services portfolio.
• Manage incident escalation, Sev 1 response and root-cause analysis.
• Plan Tier 1/2 transition to the global support team and track metrics.
• Maintain support matrices, escalation paths, on-call coverage, and runbooks.
• Oversee sprint planning, backlog prioritization and release coordination.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, network, database, security and integration teams.
• Hold operational reviews and stakeholder updates.
• Develop succession plans and cross-training to avoid single points of failure.
