Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. in Illinois seeks an Air Import Specialist to manage air import shipments, coordinating with airlines and clients to provide timely updates and ensure excellent service.

You will follow company policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and handle documentation and invoicing with precision. The role requires at least 3 years of air imports experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Cargowise experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Air imports or combination of education and expertise required.
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures.
• Cargowise (C1) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track arrivals of cargo via web, coordinate with origin warehouses and customers.
• Receive and relay transmissions to warehouses within 8 hours of flight arrival.
• Generate notices of arrival and dispatch documents; coordinate courier transmission.
• Prepare freight and handling invoices promptly upon cargo arrival.
• Notify clients of cargo arrival and track daily flight status and delays.
