Job summary

Portland Glass in Biddeford, ME is seeking a hands-on Manager to lead daily store operations, ensure safety standards and accurate installations, and deliver exceptional customer service.

You will analyze monthly financials, coach team members, manage inventory and purchasing, and strive to exceed customer expectations while maintaining budget.

Eligible candidates have business management experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience in business management.
• Glass industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer programs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test per applicable state laws.
• Education: High school diploma/GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Physical: Lift a minimum of 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring safety standards are followed and PPE is inspected.
• Overseeing safe installation procedures and meeting architectural specs.
• Managing the store to exceed customer expectations and handle escalations.
• Reading and analyzing monthly financial statements and making improvements.
• Coaching and developing team members and identifying growth opportunities.
• Purchasing inventory to service customers while adhering to budget.

As a Manager on the Portland Glass team, a typical day for you will include:

• Ensuring all employees and team members strictly adhere to Portland Glass safety standards and conducting regular safety meetings/ regularly inspecting PPE
• Overseeing that correct procedures are used to ensure safe installations, meeting the designated architectural specifications for glass installation
• Managing the retail store to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and resolving customer escalations in a professional and timely manner
• Reading, understanding and analyzing monthly financial statements and making improvements as needed
• Proactively coaching and developing team members to ensure success in their respective roles and identifying opportunities for recognition and development
• Purchasing inventory and products to sufficiently service customers to ensure efficiency while keeping in line with the budget

(Required qualifications)

• Prior experience in business management required, prior glass experience/related skilled trades experience preferred!
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer programs
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to understand and analyze budget, financial statements, inventory, and related retail business procedures/reports
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test per applicable state laws
• Education: High school diploma/GED is required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift minimum of 75 pounds

Competitive pay: $75,000 - $85,000 based on experience!
