Job summary

Portland Glass, part of Neighborly, is seeking a Manager in Wallingford, VT. You will oversee store operations, safety compliance, and team performance while delivering exceptional customer service and managing budgets.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in business management required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer programs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and analyze budget, financial statements, inventory and related retail procedures/reports.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test per applicable state laws.
• Education: High school diploma/GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all employees adhere to Portland Glass safety standards and conduct safety meetings.
• Oversee safe installations meeting architectural specifications.
• Manage the retail store to exceed customer expectations and resolve escalations.
• Read and analyze monthly financial statements and propose improvements.
• Coach and develop team members and identify opportunities for recognition.
• Purchase inventory to service customers within budget.

As a Manager on the Portland Glass team, a typical day for you will include:

• Ensuring all employees and team members strictly adhere to Portland Glass safety standards and conducting regular safety meetings/ regularly inspecting PPE
• Overseeing that correct procedures are used to ensure safe installations, meeting the designated architectural specifications for glass installation
• Managing the retail store to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and resolving customer escalations in a professional and timely manner
• Reading, understanding and analyzing monthly financial statements and making improvements as needed
• Proactively coaching and developing team members to ensure success in their respective roles and identifying opportunities for recognition and development
• Purchasing inventory and products to sufficiently service customers to ensure efficiency while keeping in line with the budget

(Required qualifications)

• Prior experience in business management required, prior glass experience/related skilled trades experience preferred!
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer programs
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to understand and analyze budget, financial statements, inventory, and related retail business procedures/reports
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test per applicable state laws
• Education: High school diploma/GED is required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift minimum of 75 pounds

Competitive pay: $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience!
