Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC in Illinois is seeking a General Ledger Associate to deliver timely month-end financial results and support the close process. You will collaborate with the Controlling Team to ensure accurate reconciliations and reporting for the parent company and investors.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP, and ERP experience (SAP preferred). A CPA is a plus; energy industry experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA license preferred, not required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work in the energy industry or related field.
• Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships.
• Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.

Responsibilities

• Perform various month end close duties, including preparing standard and miscellaneous journal entries, preparing balances sheet accounts reconciliation and roll forward schedules
• Prepare monthly/quarterly US GAAP financial statements for review by FR team
• Provide ad hoc analysis as needed for internal customers and assist in special projects
• Prepare responses to accounting related inquiries both internal and external auditors
• Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner
