Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a General Ledger Associate in Illinois to join our Finance / Controlling team. This full-time, permanent role focuses on delivering month-end financial results, maintaining close processes, and preparing journal entries and reconciliations for reporting to the parent company and investors.

You will collaborate with the Controlling Team on variance analysis, improve close efficiency, and provide ad hoc analysis for internal customers and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA license preferred, not required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work in energy industry or related field.
• Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage customer relationships.
• Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
• Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
• Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and communicate with diverse backgrounds.
• Coachable and able to take direction.
• Detail-oriented with strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Perform month end close duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and roll-forward schedules.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly US GAAP financial statements for FR team.
• Provide ad hoc analysis for internal customers and assist in special projects.
• Prepare responses to accounting inquiries from internal and external auditors.
• Establish best practices for the monthly close and reconciliations.
