Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr Operations Controlling Associate to partner with Operations leadership. You will drive financial reporting and forecasting for a 13 GW portfolio including wind, solar and storage assets, and support scalable process improvements.

The role requirements include a Finance/Accounting degree, strong communication, and 4+ years FP&A experience. This is a full-time permanent position based in the Chicago area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics / Business or equivalent professional experience.
• CPA is preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in an FP&A role and/or renewable energy sector preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient forecasting, variance analysis, asset performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial reporting for a portfolio of operating assets and internal support teams.
• Manage full plan and forecast lifecycle from assumptions to input and analysis.
• Conduct variance analyses to explain trends in costs and asset performance.
• Coordinate with Controlling subteams to align reporting standards and KPIs.
• Present results and forecasts to Operations and Asset Management leadership with insights.
• Track optimization efforts and evaluate cost-saving ideas and capital expenditures.
• Support automation and data quality improvements in SAP, Power BI and planning tools.
• Act as finance partner translating operations plans into OpEx.
