Job summary

National Veterinary Associates (NVA) is seeking a strong GL Accounting Manager to lead core general ledger accounting activities and elevate the accounting team's capabilities. This role reports to Finance leadership and drives accuracy in monthly close, journal entries, and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience, 2+ years in people leadership, and strong Excel skills, with CPA/MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading accounting professionals.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close, accrual accounting, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of accountants, providing direction, coaching, performance management, and opportunities for professional growth.
• Own and oversee key components of the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analyses for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Partner with FP&A, Operations, AP, Treasury, Procurement, Legal, and other business functions to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Support accounting system initiatives, including Oracle ERP enhancements, integrations, system changes, and process transformations.
