Job summary

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a financially skilled professional to support monthly close, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts. You will ensure GAAP compliance and assist with reporting and process improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of combined public/private accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly analyses for benefit programs and workers’ compensation
• Record journal entries from third-party reports
• Present monthly results to accounting and benefit leaders
• Collaborate with third-party advisors on monthly claims and results
• Prepare annual budget and forecast for medical and workers’ compensation expense
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for payroll and benefit accounts
• Investigate variances and provide explanations to management
• Support external audits with schedules and responses
