Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Manager, Engineering, Git & Gitaly Operations to lead the team responsible for the Git infrastructure layer underlying the company's core products. The role emphasizes deep Git/Gitaly expertise and high operational judgment across Self‑Managed, Dedicated, and SaaS deployments.

You will champion reliability, design scalable storage and compute strategies, and partner with cross‑functional teams to evolve Git and Gitaly operations as the platform grows.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Git internals, protocol, object model and storage under load and at scale.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals: consistency, replication, failure handling, and scalability.
• Experience running production infrastructure across multiple deployment models (Self‑Managed, Dedicated, SaaS).
• Leadership of site reliability engineering or platform operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team with deep Git/Gitaly platform expertise and strong operational judgment.
• Own production reliability for Git and Gitaly across all deployment footprints.
• Drive incident management, RCAs, and post-mortems with deep Git knowledge.
• Design and operate Git/Gitaly service models for Self‑Managed, Dedicated, and SaaS deployments.
