Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to own and evolve our internal development platform, delivering a secure, robust self‑service environment for developers. You will design the Golden Path from local code to production, and mentor newer engineers while aligning with stakeholders on the DevSecOps roadmap.

You will lead the creation of automated security and compliance tooling, drive GitOps adoption, and ensure trusted, observable delivery across environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building or scaling internal developer platforms or CI/CD ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native primitives (Compute, Networking, Storage) and cross-provider or hybrid environments.
• Proven ability to manage container orchestration at scale and abstract complexity for end-users.
• Expert-level proficiency in declarative configuration management and IaC design (Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi).
• Strong scripting or systems programming (Python, Go, Bash) to glue systems.
• Experience delivering security compliance (e.g., UK government Secure by Design) in tooling.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of the internal developer platform and build automated solutions to remove bottlenecks.
• Architect and evolve standardized deployment patterns with security, compliance, and observability.
• Ensure high availability and seamless integration of the self-hosted engineering suite with the wider ecosystem.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code practices to deliver auditable and reproducible infrastructure.
• Drive adoption of modern deployment methods (GitOps) for declarative state management.
• Own automated security tooling to deliver audit evidence for the platform.
