Orange County Government is seeking a GIS Technician II to perform complex GIS work for cadastral mapping and tax records within the Tax Administration Department.
The role involves preparing and maintaining real estate tax files, verifying data accuracy, and assisting the public and other departments. A background check is required, and certifications in Property Mapping are expected.
The Orange County Tax Administration Department has an opening for a GIS Technician II. The work involves complex technical work using GIS software for the preparation and illustration of cadastral assessment maps used in the preparation of a county-wide tax roll as well as preparing, transferring and maintaining real estate tax records and files, checking data for accuracy, assisting the public and other departments and agencies.
Work is performed under the general direction of the GIS and Land Records Manager with leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding customer needs and requests and conducting project assignments. Supervision over others is not required of this position. Position does related work as required.
