Job summary

The City of Lexington seeks a GIS Manager to lead the GIS program for the Utility Services Department. You will oversee GIS development, train end users, and support GIS applications used city-wide.

Requires a GIS or related degree (or 4 years of experience), GPS knowledge, supervisory experience, and a valid NC driver's license. Working hours are Mon–Fri 8–5 with competitive benefits.

GIS Manager perform moderate to complex analytical, technical, professional, and administrative work in developing the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) needs, provide training and end user support for GIS for the Utility Services Department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science or related field or four years related work experience
• Four years of experience with GIS and Global Positioning System (GPS) concepts and applications
• One year of supervisory experience
• Thorough knowledge of ESRI software platform
• Valid NC driver's license or valid out-of-state driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver's license within sixty days of employment and good driving record

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Paid bi-weekly.
