Job summary

Stantec in Indianapolis seeks a Senior GIS Specialist to join our Environmental Services Geospatial team. You will work on ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise environments, delivering spatial solutions for diverse clients and projects.

The role involves leading GIS initiatives, managing data and budgets, and coordinating with internal/external staff to meet project objectives using ArcGIS Pro, AGO, and related tools.

Qualifications

Educated knowledge and experience with Esri ArcGIS software, primarily ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, plus ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Field Maps, and ArcGIS Survey123.
Experience building and using a GIS to solve problems and present results for multi-disciplinary teams.
Technical training in GIS mapping, geospatial analysis, and geographic principles.
Strong cartographic skills with clear communication of complex information.
Experience with AGO products (WebMaps, WebApps, Dashboards, etc.).
Demonstrated data management and data organization skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information using ESRI ArcGIS software.
Produce custom thematic map products and perform data analysis to support deliverables.
Prepare web maps, dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews (Survey123, Field Maps, AGO).
Interpret and analyze spatial and non-spatial data; conduct complex spatial analysis.
Lead GIS projects including data, budgets, and timelines as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Maintain data integrity and quality control procedures.
Serve as GIS lead on projects of varying lengths and budgets.
Communicate with clients to discuss optimal geospatial approaches for project needs.
Assist in proposal development and cost estimation.
Report to the Great Lakes GIS Team Lead.
