Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking a GIS Specialist to support the GIS Coordinator across diverse projects in the Fargo, Bismarck, Dickinson, Minot, ND and Minnesota offices, including St. Cloud. You will perform data analysis, advanced map development, and automate workflows in ArcGIS.

Applicants should have a BS in Geography/CS/GIS, 3–5 years with ESRI GIS, CAD familiarity, and a valid driver’s license. Regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Computer Science, or GIS-related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3–5 years experience with ESRI GIS suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, configuration of ArcGIS Solutions, and Survey123/Field Maps/ArcGIS Dashboards/Story Maps/WEB Apps.
• Knowledge of GIS as it relates to land development, local government, planning, and transportation.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and Esri languages (Arcade, Python, Visual Basic, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with CAD data and GIS conversion processes.
• Experience with high-accuracy GPS data collection.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; regional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare advanced detailed maps and GIS automation using ArcGIS software.
• Produce presentation-quality maps for internal use.
• Develop and manage quality control procedures and process documentation.
• Acquire spatial data and integrate it into the organization’s GIS.
• Maintain high attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
