Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking a GIS Analyst to support the GIS Coordinator on diverse projects across multiple ND/MN offices, including Fargo. The role focuses on data analysis, advanced map development, web GIS configuration, and ArcGIS automation.

You will work with CAD data and GPS collection, produce presentation maps, and help implement quality controls and workflow documentation. A growth path toward consulting services is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, CS, or GIS-related field.
• 3–5 years of experience with ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, Dashboards, Story Maps, Web App Builder/Experience Builder).
• Knowledge of GIS in land development, local government, public works, planning, municipal engineering, water resources, transportation.
• Relational databases and Esri languages (Arcade, Python, VB, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with CAD data and conversion to GIS; experience with high-accuracy GPS data collection.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; regional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare advanced detailed maps and GIS automation using GIS software with CAD knowledge (Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• Produce presentation-quality maps following cartographic design standards.
• Develop and manage quality control procedures and documentation.
• Acquire spatial data and integrate datasets into the GIS system.
• Maintain attention to detail while meeting deadlines and work effectively in a team.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
