The University of California - Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is seeking a Financial Analyst to independently provide analytical support for fiscal management of endowments, gifts and other funding sources. You will run ad-hoc reports, maintain Excel spreadsheets and provide monthly updates to leadership.

The role requires examining complex data, ensuring proper use of funds, and handling contract management with VMTH managers, supply chain staff and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or finance, or equivalent experience.
• Experience using Excel for complex financial analysis including Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Accounting experience analyzing, approving and recording financial transactions; verifying expenditures.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with attention to detail for data analysis.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication to prepare clear reports for leadership.
• Leadership to participate in recruitment, selection, and training of personnel.

Responsibilities

• 60% - Financial management and analysis of gifts and non-operational funding.
• 30% - Contract management (services, repairs, supplies, loans).
